Managing Deposits and Payment Plans

Many doulas require deposits to secure client bookings. DoulaBub makes it easy to manage deposits and create payment plans.

Why Require a Deposit?

Deposits protect your doula business:

  • Secures client commitment
  • Covers your reserved time and on-call availability
  • Helps manage cash flow across prenatal and postpartum phases

Creating Invoices with Deposits

When creating an invoice for your doula package:

  1. Navigate to DashboardInvoices+ Create Invoice.
  2. Add your full service package (e.g., "Full Birth Doula Support Package - $2,000").
  3. In the invoice notes or payment schedule section, outline the milestone breakdown (e.g., "$500 retainer upon contract signing, $1,500 due by 36 weeks").
  4. Once received, record the deposit payment using Record Payment.

Tracking Balance Due

The invoice summary automatically calculates:

  • Total invoice amount
  • Total payments recorded
  • Remaining balance due
