Scope of Services & Package Deliverables

Professional backup birth doula support for primary doula clients during emergency unavailability, illness, injury, or overlapping births during the designated on-call period.

Contract Terms & Legal Provisions

1. Primary & Backup Roles & Responsibilities

The Primary Doula contracts the Backup Doula to provide secondary on-call coverage. The Backup Doula agrees to maintain sobriety, physical proximity (within 60 minutes), and phone readiness during the agreed on-call window.

2. Compensation & Fee Split Terms

The Primary Doula pays the Backup Doula a non-refundable on-call retainer of $150. If the Backup Doula is called to attend the birth in place of the Primary Doula, the Backup Doula receives a fee of $750 (total $900) paid within 48 hours of birth completion.

3. Client Chart & Intake Information Transfer

The Primary Doula agrees to provide the Backup Doula with the Client's birth preferences summary, medical provider contact, and emergency contact details by 36 weeks gestation.

4. Emergency Activation & Handover Protocol

If the Primary Doula cannot attend due to illness, active attendance at another birth, or family emergency, the Primary Doula will contact the Backup Doula immediately and notify the Client of the transition.

5. Professional Liability & Independent Contractor Status

The Backup Doula operates as an independent contractor and maintains their own professional liability insurance and certifications.

By executing this agreement, both parties confirm their mutual understanding and acceptance of all terms, policies, and non-medical limits.
