Scope of Services & Package Deliverables

In-home postpartum doula care including newborn soothing, feeding guidance (breastfeeding, chestfeeding, bottle feeding), parent recovery support, light nourishment prep, nursery organization, and evidence-based perinatal resources.

Contract Terms & Legal Provisions

1. Scope of Postpartum Support

The Doula provides non-medical in-home care for the recovering parent and newborn. Scope includes newborn care education, infant soothing, parent hydration/snack prep, light tidying directly related to infant care, and emotional debriefing of the birth experience.

2. Shift Scheduling & Minimum Booking Hours

Daytime shifts require a minimum booking of four (4) consecutive hours per visit. Shift dates and start times are mutually agreed upon in writing. Any unused hours within a contracted package expire after ninety (90) days from the start date.

3. Shift Cancellation & Rescheduling Terms

The Client must provide at least forty-eight (48) hours notice to reschedule a shift without penalty. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at 50% of the scheduled shift value. In the event of family illness, shifts may be rescheduled subject to availability.

4. Scope of Practice & Safety Guidelines

The Doula is not a medical professional, registered nurse, or house cleaner. The Doula does not administer prescription medication to infant or parent, diagnose postpartum mood disorders, or perform heavy domestic cleaning.

5. Infant Feeding Support Boundaries

The Doula provides peer-level feeding guidance, positioning, and latch support. If complex lactation challenges arise (e.g. tongue tie, mastitis, low milk supply), the Doula will provide referrals to an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) or pediatric specialist.

By executing this agreement, both parties confirm their mutual understanding and acceptance of all terms, policies, and non-medical limits.
