Scope of Services & Package Deliverables

Overnight newborn care shifts (typically 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM or 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM) including nocturnal feeding, burping, swaddling, diapering, infant sleep conditioning, and night log tracking to ensure restful parent sleep.

Contract Terms & Legal Provisions

1. Overnight Shift Hours & Sleep Logs

Overnight shifts consist of eight (8) consecutive hours (standard 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM). The Doula maintains a meticulous digital or written log recording feed times, ounces/duration, diaper output, and sleep stretches for parent review in the morning.

2. Nighttime Duties & Feeding Coordination

For bottle-fed infants (expressed milk or formula), the Doula manages all nighttime preparation, feeding, burping, and bottle sanitization. For nursing parents, the Doula brings the infant to the parent at hunger cues and returns the infant to sleep following feeding.

3. Safe Sleep Protocols (AAP Standards)

The Doula adheres strictly to American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) safe infant sleep guidelines: back to sleep on a firm, flat, standalone crib or bassinet surface free of loose blankets, pillows, bumpers, or plush toys. The Doula does not practice bed-sharing.

4. Multiples / Twin Surcharge Clause

If caring for twins or higher-order multiples, an additional rate of $10 to $15 per hour applies to reflect the simultaneous care requirements and feeding synchronization.

5. Overnight Cancellation & Sickness Policy

Because overnight shifts cannot be easily backfilled, cancellations require at least 72 hours notice. Shifts cancelled with less than 72 hours notice will be charged in full. If the Doula falls ill, a full credit or makeup shift is provided.

By executing this agreement, both parties confirm their mutual understanding and acceptance of all terms, policies, and non-medical limits.
